Our history

Waverley Jordanville.jpg

After 30 years in leased premises opposite the Jordanville Stations, we have relocated into brand new premises at the rear of the Central Reserve Grandstand in Glen Waverley provided with the aid and support of the City of Monash.

These new premises have been designed and fitted out to specifically meet our growing needs.

With more space to allow more and larger individual projects, members are already realising the benefits.

The Club has built an active community-facing element where we make wooden toys for charities in and around the area supporting the local communities wherever we can. We are part of the Men’s Shed organisation recognising the importance of helping men and women who may otherwise be isolated within our communities.

We have an active list of sponsors who recognise the benefits the Club brings to the members and the community and support us with discounts on equipment and consumables purchases.

New members over 18 years old with an interest in woodwork are welcomed. Contact us via email, phone or come and visit us at the Club.

We have a Full-function Woodworking Workshop, with a comprehensive range of hand tools, power tools and woodworking machines.

Everyone has something to learn and others are happy to teach and inspire.

In 2024, we became a registered charity supporting mens health.

WAVERLEY WOODWORKERS was formed in November 1990 by a group of local Waverley residents.  The main theme of the club was and still is...

"Everyone knows something - no-one knows everything, everyone has something to tell, and something to learn. So, let's get together and help each other enjoy one of the most fascinating and rewarding hobbies in the world."

Starting with few tools but an active Committee, the club has steadily amassed a range of quality tools and machines to suit a wide range of activities and creations.

The objective of the club is to provide a safe place where members can interact with one another, learn new skills and learn from each other, start or complete projects, create individual masterpieces, try new designs and projects, and access the wide range of tools we have with support and help.
